Details

A bold and beautifully handmade Cowichan-style cardigan from the 1960s, featuring three large intarsia-knit rams—two mirrored on the front and one centered on the back. Set against a rich red wool base, the rams are knit in soft cream, black, and gray with subtle red detailing at the horns, creating striking contrast and personality. The name “GINI” is stitched near the hem, adding a touch of personal history to an already standout piece.

This zip-front cardigan is knit from thick, hand-spun wool and features traditional Cowichan construction: raglan sleeves, a rolled shawl collar, inset front pockets, and a sturdy metal Talon zipper. The hem and cuffs are finished with a decorative stripe motif in cream and black. While it was originally personalized, the design remains highly collectible and wearable — a testament to the skill and story behind artisan-made North American knitwear of the mid-20th century.

The fit is cozy and oversized, best for layering or wearing as a statement outer layer. In excellent vintage condition (9/10) with only minimal signs of wear. A warm, weighty, and charismatic piece — equally at home in a rugged cabin or a curated closet.

Measurements (inches, flat lay):
Chest (pit to pit): 24"
