Details

A long-worn corridor of color, this antique Heriz runner dates to the 1880s. A rare survivor from the Qajar-era weaving tradition of Northwest Persia. Woven entirely by hand, its palette has softened through the decades into a tapestry of rusted coral, aged indigo, and golden straw, with vegetal greens now faded like pressed leaves in an old book.

The central medallion unfolds from a midnight blue base, extending outward through symmetrical floral and foliate motifs, framed by a serrated leaf and rosette border. This runner bears a distinctly timeworn patina: heavy abrash, threadbare passageways, and visible wear consistent with nearly 150 years of footfall. Its character is storied and unrepentant. This is a rug that asks to be admired for its age, not in spite of it.

Ideal for a hallway, gallery wall, or layered beneath modern pieces, it brings soul and provenance to any space. Each footstep across this long-format piece feels like a journey into living textile history.
