Details

A large amber glass bottle with the embossed warning “Federal Law Forbids Sale or Reuse of This Bottle”, a regulation marking common on liquor bottles manufactured in the United States from 1935 to 1964. This particular piece likely dates to the earlier part of that era and features an embossed eagle crest with wings spread in a deco-style frame.

The bottle has been mounted on a sanded and sealed natural pine backboard using hand-cut copper and brass hardware. Its size makes it ideal for larger arrangements or as a sculptural statement on its own. The amber glass casts warm tones when lit from the side and has a gentle curvature that softens its substantial shape.

Originally designed to discourage bootlegging, this bottle has been reimagined as a vessel for quiet domestic beauty, a symbol of transformation, from prohibition-era utility to artful adornment.
